What I do
Ann has been working with small and medium sized enterprises for the last 13 years where she has developed a sound insight into what makes business successful using simple, yet practical ideas and methods that can be implemented easily back in the workplace.

She is renowned for her energetic and inspirational approach, and is building a reputation for not only designing training solutions that have a lasting impression but also delivering in an engaging and humorous manner.

Her seminars strip away the hype, get rid of buzzwords and deliver practical, action orientated ideas for small businesses. She offers some new ideas and inspires you to think differently about the way you do business. It’s about sound advice, better decision making and leading edge thinking.

Build credibility then communicate it

In a crowded business world where business is scrapping for attention, it’s easy to succumb to the lust to capture customers no matter what in a hyper competitive marketplace. It takes time to build a reputation but it needs to be on your mind right from go. Customers only have a desire to discover the truth and place reputation ahead of the features and benefits of your products and services.

Credibility fosters trust so how relevant is your credibility beyond your core product offering? Posit… Continue

Everything is subjective

There is an illusion that there is objectivity. Nonsense, rubbish, utter crap! There are certainly varying degrees of objectivity depending on an individuals ability to see things ‘clearly,’ but then, isn’t that by definition subjectivity. Pure objectivity just doesn’t exist.

When you bring in a consultant from the outside to look at things differently, you are not buying their pure objectivity, just a little more than you and your crew have. That’s why consultants often get accused of giving di… Continue

Loosing control

We are starting to lose control. As new business models emerge and people demand better experiences, we are having to shift our behaviour from a controlling state to an influencing agenda. Control has always been used by individuals who were insecure and under confident.

As James Arthur Ray quotes “Control is never achieved when sought directly. It is the surprising outcome of letting go.” We see people struggling with the concept everyday in the workplace, as customers and by observing others!… Continue

A different look at routine

All business needs routine and whilst for some that means comfort, security, peace of mind and stability, for many others it strikes fear into their hearts. For some of us it makes us feel cold, staid, inert and we avoid it as best we can. Frankly, though we all have routine in our lives whether we like it or not, even if its the weekly shop! But perhaps we need to change its focus.

Routine, possibly a sequence of actions followed on a regular basis or perhaps its a fixed program of action. We’… Continue

Dear Ann
Hope all is well with you.

I have just (re)taken over the DiD database, which includes about 300 designers, etc, over and above those who’ve signed up to this Ning site.

I am trying to update the list and now have a record of three e-mail addresses for you. Is ann@annholman.co.uk the one to use? Can I delete reference to Clarity Projects, etc?

Look forward to hearing from you, Bob M
