Just wondering if anyone else has been thinking about making Designed in Devon a facebook group?
Ning offers a sleeker design but I don't seem to get any email updates when news and blogs are posted.
Or does anyone know how to set up an email alert with Ning?
I get all Designed in Devon updates in my RSS reader (I use Google Reader) - which has replaced all my email newsletters and updates. I have it embedded into iGoogle, which is the home page in my browser. Makes life much easier. All my favourite blogs go in there too, and hey presto, one stream of stuff to keep me updated.
I only use Facebook (infrequently) to keep in touch with friends, don't want to add any work stuff to it, but that's just me, plenty of others might join a FB group.
Personally I use facebook both for personal and business. To date mostly personal use but more and more businesses and networks are registering with facebook as well.
For example Formation Zone recently got its own Facebook page, see http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=94412760214&ref=ts. For those of you that are registered on Facebook please take a look and join.
Do you know when the next designed in devon Meeting is?
Also next time you are in Plymouth don't miss the exhibition in Soul Life!
Christmas party - Thursday 11th December in Exeter, more details to follow any second now....
Also, looking at Ning now, it seems like they've added a whole lot more than they had when I set this Ning thing up, including Facebook integration, calendars etc etc. It may be that we can do a whole lot more now, if I get the chance, I'll have a look and see what's possible. Even when the permanent website is built, we may choose to retain the Ning for some members-only social networking features.
Ok Brilliant, let me know how you get on with it!
Afraid I cant make it to the 11th as Formation Zone also have their Xmas dinner then but I will definitely try to catch up with you next time!
